ERASMUS POLICY STATEMENT




ERASMUS CHARTER
Erasmus Charter for Higher Education is a document based on which the European Commission awards accreditation to higher education institutions from program countries thanks to which they can compete for Erasmus + program projects and take part in them. It contains the basic principles that higher education institutions have to comply with in order to be able to take part in the Program. Also, Erasmus charter offers the basic quality framework for European and international cooperation.


LANGUAGE POLICY FOR PARTICIPANTS
In order to assure high quality of staff and student mobility, Academy Nis takes care that all participants in mobility have a satisfactory level of English language knowledge or knowledge of the language spoken at the host institution. In selection procedure for outgoing student mobility, proficiency of students in foreign languages is checked through oral and written examinations carried out in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Before the outset of the mobility period, students are offered intensive language sessions conducted by two senior English language lecturers. Also, participants in outgoing mobility are in position to use services of the Serbian Academic Association. http://asasocijacija.com/ with eight lectures in German on levels B1(3), A1(3), A2(2), seven lectures in French on levels A1(3), A2(2), B1(2), B2(2), and 42 lectures in English on all levels. Language support for incoming students and staff with a minimum of 2-month mobility period. An intensive course of Serbian has been organized for international students in cooperation with the Serbian Academic Association and the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Nis. However, two senior English language lecturers at Academy Nis are trained to assist incoming students/staff understand and use familiar, everyday expressions, and basic phrases in view of helping them satisfy their concrete needs.
